Covering a wide range of training areas and aims
I work with trainees across various specialisations, whether you're focusing on traditional sport (e.g., football, athletics, golf, rugby, boxing, MMA, swimming), sport and exercise (both performance and wellbeing populations), or esports (competitive gaming, content creators, streamers). Many supervisees build mixed practices with diverse client portfolios. I support self-employed practitioners establishing their own practice, those working full-time with organisations, part-time trainees balancing training with other employment, and international candidates through remote supervision. I also provide HCPC-registered supervision for those not yet enrolled on SEPAR who want to begin their pre-qualification development.

Working With Trainees Across Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex, Hertfordshire, London & Beyond
I provide face-to-face supervision sessions across the East of England and London, with remote supervision available throughout the UK for trainees based further afield. International candidates can access supervision via video calling, and I offer flexible delivery that mixes in-person and online sessions to suit your circumstances and preferences.

Why SEPAR Supervision Matters for Trainee Sport Psychologists (SEPiTs)
Choosing the right SEPAR supervisor is one of the most important decisions you'll make during your sport psychology training. Quality supervision shapes not just whether you meet CASES requirements, but how you develop as a practitioner, build your professional identity, and establish a sustainable career. Many trainee sport psychologists struggle with the transition from academic learning to applied practice, finding it challenging to translate theory into real-world interventions with athletes and performers. A supportive SEPAR supervisor helps bridge this gap, providing the scaffolding you need to develop confidence and competence in applied settings.

The SEPAR route can feel isolating, particularly for self-employed trainees building their practice from scratch. Unlike trainees in established organisations, those working independently often lack day-to-day colleagues to discuss cases with, share resources, or gain perspective from. This is where regular supervision becomes invaluable. Beyond the mandatory 50 hours annually, effective supervision provides ongoing professional support, helping you navigate ethical dilemmas, develop your case conceptualisation skills, and build the reflective capacity essential for independent practice. Whether you're working with football academies in Suffolk, esports players internationally, or building a mixed client base across traditional sports, having an experienced supervisor who understands diverse performance contexts makes a substantial difference to your development.

Many trainee psychologists also underestimate the business side of qualification. The SEPAR programme whilst great value, still costs money, plus supervision fees, insurance, DBS checks, and CPD expenses. Without clients or an additional job, these costs can feel overwhelming. A supervisor with experience establishing their own practice can provide practical guidance on marketing, client acquisition, pricing structures, and financial sustainability. This business mentorship, combined with clinical supervision, helps trainees build viable careers rather than just achieving qualification.
For those specialising in niche areas like esports psychology or content creator support, finding a supervisor with relevant expertise ensures you receive guidance grounded in the specific challenges these populations face, rather than generic sport psychology supervision.
